I could say that I didn’t take too many pictures in Litchfield because I wanted you to experience it in person, for yourself, but the fact is I just wanted to walk around and window shop. Like Stonington and Essex, Litchfield is the kind of town to just park your car and take a walk around. I love all three of these towns so much for that reason, and because each is a great jumping off point for a day trip.
Itinerary Christmastime in Litchfield, Connecticut
Litchfield itself has great restaurants and really great shopping. While some of the stores are a little uppity, some have reasonable prices and lots of locally-made goods. Of course, I also recommend stops in Bantam for the Bantam Bread Co. and Arethusa’s Dairy as well. Even on a cold Connecticut December day, there’s always room for ice cream. Am I right?
