The day started well. It was Sunday so the plan was to sleep in, something I rarely do. Most days I wake up around 6:21a.m. (precisely) no matter what. So on this Sunday I slept until 9a.m. and then we headed to Aero Diner in Windham for breakfast. That’s when everything went downhill. The order was simple: 2 eggs over medium, well-done hashbrowns, side of bacon with coffee. The first sign was the coffee. It was the kind of coffee that when you drip a bit of cream into it, it immediately turns white. Is there anything worse than weak, water-y coffee? The hashbrowns were under-cooked and soggy, and the bacon was chewy. The eggs were fine, but let’s be honest here. When you’re eating at a diner, you’re there for the sides as much as the eggs.
After paying $25 for two plates of soggy breakfast food and two cups of water-y coffee, we were deflated, disturbed and dismayed. And left wondering if there’s any good breakfast place in Windham?
