Last Friday was a rare day off for me, and I was planning to organize my closets. I tend to treat days off as an opportunity to catch up on all the things I need to do around my apartment rather than a “day off,” which I badly needed. But then my friend Ellen texted to say she had googled ‘hiking the Hueblein Tower’ and my blog had come up. Should we go hiking? Of course I said yes. And of course we should go to Republic afterwards for lunch because that’s where I went the last time I hiked the Hueblein trail.
Some habits are so good you really shouldn’t break them.
Republic has a feature they call the Express Lunch which consists of an appetizer, entree and a dessert for $14. I had the ceasar salad, fish-n-chips, and banana bread pudding. The portions were perfectly-sized and I liked that each component of the meal was served at the same time. That way I could judge how much of the salad and fish-n-chips to eat and still leave room for bread pudding (which was–and I know this word is over-used–phenomenal, and I am not a dessert person).
