Mother Nature, you are a real nut job. As nutty as the person who designed the Asylum Ave-Capitol Ave-91 interchange stretch on 84 East in Hartford. You are approaching Donald Trump levels of crazy. You’re that much of a jerk right now. After trying to wash away much of the tri-state last week, you pelted us with snow as soon as we started to slowly recover.

However, just two short weeks ago you gave me this day, which while partly cloudy, was still lovely. Mike and I and our friends Suzi and Jon did a mini wine trail day for my birthday. We started at Dondero Orchards, picked up Suzi and Jon in West Hartford and made the drive up to Litchfield. I wrote it about it last time I visited Sunset Meadows, but I really love this drive, particularly the right turn towards Goshen in “downtown” Litchfield. Sometimes the GPS sends us up Route 6 and it’s just not the same.
Sunset Meadows remains one of the friendliest, least uppity stops on the CT wine trail. We did a tasting and then sat outside and shared a bottle before heading to Miranda Vineyard, and then onto At the Corner for dinner. More on those later.
